Things I've built
Small tools I've made to solve problems I ran into. They're built for my own use first, and the status and limitations of each are noted honestly.
AI Chat Organiser Beta
A Chrome extension that adds a side panel for sorting your ChatGPT and Claude conversations into one shared set of folders and sub-folders.
- Why
- Both apps list conversations as one long, flat history, which gets hard to navigate once you use them for many different things.
- What it does
- One folder tree for both ChatGPT and Claude, with a filter to show either or both
- Nested folders, with search and sorting by date or title
- Import past conversations from a ChatGPT or Claude data export (the site is detected automatically)
- Export the open chat as Markdown (to paste into another AI) or as a readable HTML page
- Back up and restore your folder structure
- Download
- Download v2.0.0
- Install
- Unzip the file, open
chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
- Limitations
- Not on the Chrome Web Store yet. It installs in Developer mode only.
- It relies on the ChatGPT and Claude page layouts, so it can break when they change their sites.
- Folders are stored in your browser only. Use Export backup to keep a copy.
YouTube Transcript Rater Beta
A Chrome extension that pulls a YouTube video's transcript and rates it against criteria you write yourself, using your existing ChatGPT or Claude account, so there's no API key or extra cost.
- Why
- Deciding whether a long video is worth watching before spending the time on it.
- What it does
- Rate from the video page, or paste any YouTube link into the side panel
- Score breakdown, verdict and summary, shown right on the page
- History of past ratings, exportable as Markdown
- Download the raw transcript as a text file
- Download
- Download v4.0.1
- Install
- Unzip, load it via
chrome://extensions → Developer mode → Load unpacked, then open the side panel and paste in your criteria.
- Limitations
- Works by typing into your ChatGPT or Claude chat, so it counts against those apps' usage limits.
- Uses Chrome's debugger permission to open YouTube's transcript panel, so Chrome briefly shows a "started debugging this browser" bar.
- Very long transcripts are trimmed to about 60,000 characters.
- Not on the Chrome Web Store. It installs in Developer mode only.
